Our Services

We believe that a solid understanding of what is happening in all areas of the body allows us to truly determine the cause of the injured site. For example, we may need to treat a foot or pelvis region to handle chronic headache pain. This is why we spend valuable time assessing every detail of function and movement. We may partner with other professionals, as we understand that the glasses you wear, the way your feet hit the ground, or how your teeth align, can contribute to your pain. Our team will leave no “river rock” unturned to guide you to the quality of life you deserve.

The following are some of the services provided at Riverside Physical Therapy:

Back, neck, hip, sacroiliac, and pelvic pain are usually the result of muscle imbalances. Our therapists pride themselves in utilizing a holistic Postural Restoration approach to find and treat the cause of the pain. Strength and balance can be restored at any age. It is never too late to return to the activities you are passionate about.

Riverside Physical Therapy works closely with physicians throughout Nebraska and surrounding states to ensure that your recovery from surgery is the best it can be. Beginning early intervention as prescribed by your physician can assist with pain management and improve your ability to rest in the days following a surgery. We are committed to working with you throughout the recovery process so that you may return to the activities that you love as quickly and safely as possible.

Your Dr may order physical therapy prior to surgery. Studies show that achieving normal range of motion and improved strength before a surgical procedure may provide improved results.

Many people experience pain in the head, neck, behind the eyes or in the areas of the jaw and neck. Optimal treatment of this pain involves evaluation of the entire body to discover the areas may be causing the neck to compensate and overuse muscles in an abnormal way. We understand that stress and hormonal changes may increase pain, however, they are not usually the root cause. Our therapists have advanced training on unraveling the patterns that keep are bodies “stuck” in painful positions.

Dizziness can be caused by crystals in the inner ear that are not in proper position, or can be due to poor head and neck position. Betty has advanced training in the treatment of balance and dizziness disorders including vertigo.

Whether your injury is due to running, football or golf, we have the knowledge and techniques to get you back in the game. Catching symptoms early is the best preventative for a serious injury. Tackling hip pain when it first occurs can allow you to keep running by learning to use correct muscles and stop overuse of the strained muscles that are causing pain. Beginning treatment at the first onset can save you time and money, as issues caught early, can be resolved quite easily.

Whether you are an athlete, active child, parent, career professional or a retiree, you rely on your body each day. We use innovative approaches to relieve pain, maintain your active lifestyle or succeed after surgery. We enjoy working with patients of all ages and celebrating each victory!

Christy has advanced training in the treatment of the foot and ankle, and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha on foot biomechanics and the use of custom orthotics. Both Christy and Betty utilize over the counter as well as custom foot orthotics to treat foot pain and to assist with stability throughout the body. Christy has recently received additional education and equipment to add permanent adjustments to our orthotics within our own office. This allows patients to receive immediate changes for pain relief.

We have built a close working relationship with Dr Paul Coffin, a podiatrist from Sioux City, Iowa, who fabricates each orthotic device to meet the patient’s specific needs. More information on Dr Coffin and his expertise can be found here.

Most of us spend the greater part of our day working to earn a living. A workplace should be a safe venue to allow a productive and pleasant experience. Ergonomics is an applied science to address the efficiency of the workplace in reference to the individual doing a job.

Betty is a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist trained and equipped to address risk factors for potential injury to a worker in a given workspace. An ergonomic assessment could be performed anywhere a job is performed, such as in an individual office, factory, farm or ranch. She will provide caring analysis regarding the risk factors or the cause of pain that currently exists with some helpful tips and resources to improve the situation for comfort and efficiency.

A day at work should not require the rest of the evening to recover; this simple or complex assessment can provide an opportunity to save time, money and energy in the workplace.
